We delved deep into our roots when we created Civia. Looking beyond everything we knew about bicycles, we uncovered the passion, joy and sense of wonder that cycling inspires. We imagined a new way to ride and build community among riders. We envisioned a bold new era for bicycles. Exploring different aspects of transportation, we developed bikes that are optimized for their specific niches. Whether we’re building a longer distance commuter like the Hyland or a short-distance grocery getter like the new Loring, our bikes are designed and engineered to do their task extraordinarily well. That’s the Civia way. We invite you to join us as we strive to lead cycling into its greatest era.

RIDING THE CIVIA WAY
Civia is dedicated to making bicycles a major form of transportation in the 21st century. We believe that together—as a community of cyclists—we can make the landscape greener, the air more breathable and improve the quality of life for all. We’re working to promote and expand that community with civiacycles.com and Greenlightride.com. Using these open forums, riders can plan their routes, meet other cyclists, build teams, compete and spread awareness by expanding the presence of bikes on the road. Designing a bicycle for transportation might seem redundant—akin to designing an airplane that flies. After all, isn’t going from point A to point B something all bikes do? But you wouldn’t do the Tour de France on your beach cruiser. You’d get a bike specially designed for the job. So if you rely on a bike for getting everywhere you go, you need a ride that’s up to thetask.

Our description of success
Light streams into our room and the thought of another great day prompts us out of bed. Catching up on the news and weather, we enjoy breakfast and gather our clothes for the day. We roll out of the house and ease into the bike lane that safely leads us where we need to go. …The lady on the yellow road bike must be on the same schedule, because, every morning, we pass each other in this same block... The singing birds and the fresh cut grass remind us that it’s summer, while the warm sun and gentle breeze push us along. Crossing over the interstate gridlock, we relish the freedom that two wheels and our own power brings. At work, our friends chat with us about the ride, while they secretly plot their own escape from the daily grind. Riding home clears our thoughts and we arrive refreshed. Paying the bills, we appreciate how much we’ve saved since simplifying to one car. Turning in for the night, it’s easy to fall asleep knowing we get to do it all again tomorrow.
