Civia is dedicated to promoting the use of bicycles for transportation. We designed our bikes from the ground up, studying every aspect of commuting, hauling, trekking and schlepping. Then we created forms to fit function and chose the best materials for the job. The result is a bicycle like no other—a machine tailored to the needs of people who live on the go, on the road—on their bikes.

Today I decided to ride in my upright cruiser with swept bars and a 3-speed hub. I wanted a little change of pace from the last few trips I've had to work. The ride in was great; I had a slight tailwind and soft pedaled the 15 miles.

I had a realization today when talking to a co-worker. It's 40 days until PJ and I get on a plane headed to Europe for some distributor visits and the Eurobike tradeshow.

I get plenty of chances to make it to bike shops and trade shows to discuss our bikes with dealers but for only the second time we will be doing an event that will allow us some direct face time with consumers.

Well it seems that our Civia trip to IL was fruitful in deed. We are excited to say that North Central Cyclery is now on board as a Civia dealer. Check them out on the dealer locator, they will be receiving their first shipment of Hylands latter next week. So if you live in the greater Dekalb area be sure to make your way down to see one for your self.

Civia in VT

Living in VT I was very excited to hear from the good people at The Old Spokes Home in Burlington that they had sold a Civia Hyland to a customer of theirs. Having an open scedule yesterday morning I packed up my Hyland demo and made my way to Burlington to meet with Glenn and Micheal. This is a great shop with a classic feel; for being the middle of the day Wednesday I was very impressed with how busy the shop was. I hung out for a while while a number of the guys at the shop took the bike out for a ride. At the end of it Glenn asked if I could part with the bike for a while so that they could have it around for a few weeks to get some feedback from their customers. So here is your chance if i you live in the area to get on a Civia. Please keep in mind this is an early production model so there have been a few changes, notably the bike does come with a chain guard which is missing on the demo. If you do make it down and take it for a spin let me know what you think.

We are very excited to announce that Roscoe Village in Chicago is now a Civia dealer. We have received a number of emails over the last few months from folks in the greater Chicago area looking for a place to check the bikes out so this is a big deal for the brand. Please check out the dealer locator on our site to see all of the fine shops that carry our bikes.

It's one more night spent on the road. This time, it's on the front end of a dealer visit to Madison and the Chicago area. We're stopping in to visit a few dealers that have expressed interest in the Hyland as well as stopping by some dealers we think would be a good fit with the brand. I'm on the road for the first part of the week, returning Thursday, late.

This morning was perfect. Great temperature, sunny skies, little wind. I decided that I was going to take the longer route into work, which takes me down the paved trails on Minnehaha Parkway that follows the Minnehaha Creek.
