Saisha Harris Graphic Designer

Hello, my name is Saisha Morning Star Harris. Though my parents claim they were not hippies, I spent the earlier part of my childhood riding around in a big mustard-yellow GMC van attending art fairs where my dad tried to sell his psychedelic pen and ink drawings and willow baskets. Because of this, I gained an appreciation for art and design at a young age and have been fortunate enough to turn my passions into a career. Since joining the Civia team, I have focused on designing Civia socks, panniers, t-shirts, packaging, trade show displays and more.

Civia is all about style. Not only are the bikes just plain gorgeous, they are built impeccably with high attention to detail. From the first day I laid eyes on the Civia Loring with its sleek blue-black finish and bamboo fenders, I knew it would be mine.

I earned my first “real” bike, a cherry red Schwinn ten-speed, serving milk in the grade-school cafeteria. For me, bicycles have always represented childhood freedom. Every time I straddle my Loring 9-speed, work and obligations disappear as I connect to simpler times. I become a gangly ten-year-old with sunburn, skinned knees and crooked teeth. My main objectives were chewing Bubblicious and dodging grasshoppers along the two-mile rural road to the community swimming pool.

Minneapolis is my home now. Raised in rural Minnesota, I am happy to say I finally made it to the “Big City.” Even though I try to deny it, you really can’t take the small town out of the girl. I still have a high appreciation for VFWs, cornfields and county fairs. In my free time you’ll find me cruising around in a rusty Jeep Wrangler, top down (the jeep’s top, not mine), listening to yacht rock, running (sometimes crawling) around Lake Calhoun, riding my Loring to local attractions and sipping cocktails on a great rooftop patio. Life doesn’t get any better than this!
